How to read ACT Budget Papers

Event date:
23 May 2017
Event time:
11am - 12pm
Venue:
ACTCOSS meeting room, 1/6 Gritten Street, Weston

In the lead up to the announcement of the 2017-18 ACT Budget on 6 June, ACTCOSS will be holding a session on reading ACT Budget Papers.

We are very pleased to have Megan Smithies returning as our guest presenter for this year's session. Megan Smithies is the former Under Treasurer with ACT Treasury, having been the Executive Director, Budget prior to that. One of her many responsibilities was the development and coordination of the ACT budget, and she has spent many years advising government on budget measures, bringing together the numbers, and putting together the budget papers.

This session will include a presentation by Megan followed by an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. So if there is anything that you have always wanted to ask about reading Budget Papers but never had the opportunity to, this is your chance.

We hope that you’ll find this session useful and interesting. We know that Budget analysis can often be anxiety inducing, and this session is designed to make the process of understanding and responding to the 2017-18 ACT Budget as easy and painless as possible. We had a great response from the session that Megan ran at ACTCOSS last year.

If you will be attending the ACT Budget lock-up or will be wanting to quickly find out what Budget measures will impact on you or your members, this session is for you. If there is anyone in your organisation who would like to attend this session from please feel free to extend this invitation to them.

Cost: Free
