Edited transcript of the Stories of Home session (video) – the final panel session at the ACT Council of Service conference ACT 2020: Citizen Voice, Community Vision held on 5 August 2016 at Rydges Capital Hill in Canberra.
When ACT Shelter and the ACT Council of Social Service (ACTCOSS) published Stories of Home in April 2016, we put the lived experience of homelessness and housing stress next to statistics on housing affordability in each of the five ACT local electorates. Candidates in the ACT Election were disturbed by what they read.
This final session of our conference on citizens’ voices shaping community vision provides an opportunity for candidates contesting the ACT Election on Saturday 15
October 2016 to share how the Stories of Home will influence their decisions if they are elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly.
Live story readings by REBUS Theatre.
- ACT Liberal candidate Nicole Lawder MLA, Shadow Minister for Housing; Family & Community Services; and Environment
- ACT Greens candidate Veronica Wensing
- ACT Labor candidate Joshua Ceramidas
Facilitator: David Sharaz, Political Reporter, SBS.
