Cultural Competency Training

Are you looking to increase your cultural competence when working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clinets and colleagues? Join ACTCOSS and MARSS and learn how you can improve your cultural competence (all while enjoying a multicultural morning tea!).

• gain an introduction to cultural competence  
• develop practical skills that you can use when working with culturally diverse clients or colleagues; and   
• enhance your understanding of our multicultural communities living in the Canberra region.   

The course will be facilitated by MARSS workers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with lived experience of cultural diversity.   

This training is recommended for community sector workers and government employees. 

About the Facilitator:  

MARSS (Migrant and Refugee Settlement Services), is a Canberra-based non-profit established in 1980. It assists migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers to exercise their human rights, successfully settle and build a new life in Australia. MARSS provides a wide range of services, including assistance with finding housing, accessing health care, and enrolling in education and training programs. The organisation also provides language and cultural support services, to help clients better understand and navigate Australian society.
