Information Session: Avoiding Digital Disaster
Learn how to protect your charity’s important files and keep your organisation running smoothly when technology lets you down!
This session will show you how to make the most of Microsoft’s free offerings for registered charities, with a practical focus on setting up and using OneDrive. You’ll discover how cloud storage can automatically back up your files, protect them from device failure or loss, and make it simple to access or recover them when needed.
We’ll walk through what ACNC-registered organisations are entitled to from Microsoft, how to get started without needing an IT expert, and how to build habits that keep your data secure and your work reliable. By the end, you’ll know how to create a simple, resilient system for storing and restoring your organisation’s documents so that even if disaster strikes, your work and your mission stay safe.
Facilitator: Troy Nissen, RKDN
Troy Nissen is the Operations Manager at RKDN, a Canberra-based ICT services company specialising in providing practical technology solutions for government, private and community organisations.
Troy has over 20 years of experience in IT operations, project delivery and helping commercial and nonprofit enterprises adopt cloud tools, having seen first-hand how poor file-storage, absent backup processes and inconsistent data management can introduce serious risk to organisations of any size.
In this session Troy will share insights from his work helping organisations transition to cloud-based file management, show the steps required for implementation using Microsoft’s nonprofit offers, and answer questions from the floor about how to keep your organisation resilient in an increasingly digital world
