Reconciliation Week Community Sector Event
Bridging Now to Next: Cultivating Cultural Safety and Reconciliation in Community Sector Workplaces
Please note: Registration for this event is not required but is encouraged for catering purposes.
This year, ACTCOSS and the Gulanga Program are hosting a National Reconciliation Week event for community sector organisations to learn about cultivating cultural safety and reconciliation in the workplace.
A panel session emphasising how cultural safety and reconciliation practices today lay the groundwork for inclusive and equitable workplaces of the future. The panel will feature Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, recruitment experts and community workers discussing practical strategies for creating culturally safe environments.
Panellists will share insights on fostering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment, addressing systemic barriers and aligning workplace strategies with broader reconciliation goals. Attendees will gain knowledge to embed cultural competency in recruitment, retention and organisational culture. This will help drive progress in reconciliation and improve wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Attending events like this is an important step in our reconciliation journey. We invite all community sector organisations to come and learn alongside us. We hope you will join us!
