Submission: ACT Planning System Review

ACTCOSS made a submission to the ACT Government’s Planning System Review regarding the new draft Territory Plan. Our submission urged the ACT Government to amend zoning regulations to allow more medium density affordable housing to be built in inner and middle suburbs. We also pushed for the establishment of a social planning unit. Other important policy positions included prioritising social policy outcomes, changes to allow for more community housing and affordable build-to-rent dwellings to be built, a greater focus on accessibility, and requiring accessible electric vehicle charging facilities in multi-complex building and community facilities.
