ACTCOSS ACT Budget 2026-27: Guidance for community organisations on making budget submissions

ACTCOSS has prepared this guidance document (below) to help guide ACTCOSS members to develop budget submissions to the ACT Government.

Budget submissions prepared by peak bodies and community organisations can help the ACT Government understand the current needs of people in the ACT and how community organisations support them. Submissions are an opportunity to propose new ideas and solutions, as well as providing evidence of demand.

There is no formal template for external budget submissions required or provided by the ACT Government. The ACTCOSS budget guidance document is intended to guide your thinking towards the key issues that ACT Government Directorates look for in budget submissions as they prepare business cases for Cabinet to consider.
